Who Are You & Who Am I?

Hi!

I'm Kristine. 28 years old and getting married...

I'm sorry. It's just so weird for me to say. I always knew I'd want to someday, but never thought it would come so soon! But then I met him. Eric. My boyfriend. My love. My friend. My family. My partner in crime. And what else do you do when you find that instant connection, the obvious signs from the universe telling you that THIS is supposed to happen?

We knew from the very start that there was something very special about our relationship...we became "us" so instantly..fell in love so instantly. It is all so natural and makes sense.

So this blog is a journey of our trip to the aisle; the next steps in our relationship and beyond. I'll be sharing my inspiration on what the day will be and how I'll be doing it as low budget as possible. Eric and I have already agreed we don't like all the bells and whistles, so this will be truly unique and our own :)

How It All Began...

The fall was a busy time for me. I work for a tattoo magazine so was traveling a lot for tattoo conventions. Literally, from the end of August to the end of September I had 4 shows lined up! 4 weekends of working 36 hour spans...needless to say I was getting exhausted.

The last show of my tour was in Vegas and I was excited. Not only for the show and a last hurrah with warm weather, but for the end of a crazy tattoo convention season.

So I went to work in the morning to do some last minute things and then headed to the airport to catch my flight. When I got to the airport and found my terminal, I sat down, opened my book and relaxed a bit...knowing it would be the last time for the rest of the weekend.

I couldn't help but notice the guy to my right a few seats over. He was bearded and had a few tattoos from what I could see....kinda burly and carrying a skateboard. He too was reading a book. Basically I liked the looks of him and couldn't help but creepy stare over.

When it was time to board, I made my way to the line and stood behind him where we made some small talk about plane delays this and that. We all headed on the plane and as each step we took closer and closer to my seat I hoped that somehow we'd be sitting next to each other.

And we did.

From there was a fantastic awkward blur of first words and conversations, followed by drink after drink and tons of laughs. Turned out he used to live in the town I live in now (Jersey City), but at the time was just visiting and heading back to Portland. Too bad...it's always the guys you meet & like who end up living as far away as possible.

We were heading to Charlotte to transfer to our respective destinations. So the plane landed, we headed to the bar for some quick drinks and said that the next time he was around in New Jersey, we would definitely meet up. And that was that I thought....

Long story short, we started texting...everyday all day long to the point that I questioned how long would it go on til' I had to either stop talking to him or move to Portland....

Then one day he texted me saying a room opened in the place he used to live in and he was coming home. 2 weeks later we were reunited and we have been us ever since :)
